Wrong EPUB title or author on Kindle?
Kindle normally reads the title and creator from the EPUB package. Renaming the file does not necessarily change what appears in the library.

Inspect the package document for dc:title and dc:creator, correct the values without altering chapter content, rebuild the EPUB and send it as a new controlled copy. Remove the old personal document if its cached metadata makes comparison confusing.
Why renaming the file does not work
The filename helps you organize files before upload, but an EPUB has its own package metadata. Readers and conversion systems can display that internal title and creator instead.
The fields to inspect
Open the OPF package document and find the Dublin Core title and creator elements. Also check the language and unique identifier while you are there, because incomplete package metadata can make diagnosis harder.
Preserve the rest of the EPUB
A metadata repair should not rewrite prose, flatten styles or regenerate chapter order. Change only the known package values and rebuild with EPUB-compatible ZIP packaging.
Resend without confusing old and new copies
Delete or clearly distinguish the old personal document, then send the corrected EPUB once. Search by the new internal title and verify the author before judging the result.
When title problems signal a different package file
If your edit has no effect, confirm that container.xml points to the OPF you changed. Some EPUBs contain more than one package-like file, but only the declared rootfile controls the publication.
