How FixMyEPUB handles your data
FixMyEPUB is designed so the EPUB diagnosis and repair happen in your browser. This page explains the separate browser data that analytics, feedback, embedded media and advertising services may receive.
Your EPUB stays on your device
When you choose an EPUB, the file is opened and processed by JavaScript running in your browser. FixMyEPUB does not upload the book to its servers, store its contents, or use the book to train a model. A repaired EPUB is created locally and downloaded as a separate file.
Analytics
FixMyEPUB uses Google Analytics to understand aggregated activity such as visited pages, approximate device type, referrer and interactions with important controls. Google may set cookies or use similar browser storage and may process technical information such as IP address and user-agent data under its own policies. We use these measurements to improve the tool and its guides, not to read EPUB contents.
Advertising
Some public pages display advertising supplied by Adsterra. Adsterra and its advertising partners may receive technical request data, set cookies or use similar technologies to select, measure and protect ads against fraud. Ads are clearly labelled and are loaded in dedicated frames separate from the EPUB tool. FixMyEPUB does not send your selected EPUB, diagnosis result or repaired file to the advertising frame.
Advertising helps fund the free site. We intentionally do not use popunder ads, full-screen advertising gates or advertisements disguised as repair or download controls. Browser and network-level blocking tools may prevent third-party advertising resources from loading.
Feedback and screenshots
The Feedback button opens a Google Form. Information you choose to submit—including descriptions, contact details or screenshots—is sent to Google and stored for review. Do not upload an EPUB, copyrighted book pages, account credentials, payment information or other sensitive material. Feedback is used to investigate problems and improve FixMyEPUB.
Embedded video and external links
The demonstration video uses YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embed mode and loads only after you choose to play it. YouTube may then receive browser and network information. Links to Amazon, W3C, GitHub, YouTube and other services lead to sites with their own privacy practices.
Your choices
You can use browser controls to delete or block cookies, restrict third-party storage, block advertising resources, or use FixMyEPUB without playing the embedded video or submitting feedback. Blocking third-party resources does not stop the local EPUB diagnosis and repair feature.
Changes and questions
This policy may be updated when the site adds or removes a service. The effective date above identifies the current version. For questions or deletion requests concerning feedback you submitted, use the and include enough information to identify the submission.
